4K Grabber

RT-AV4K is a real-time capturing and streaming device which supports video content capturing and processing up to 4K UHD. Captured content can be processed directly on device or can be transferred to PC for future analysis.

CES 2017: Viaccess-Orca selects RT-RK solutions for its Automated Set-Top Box System

IBC 2016: RT-RK and TRC in a strategic partnership Jointly on the Portuguese operators’ market

Novi Sad, Serbia – September 10, 2016 – RT-RK and TRC have announced a strategic partnership on a joint project of creating a comprehensive end-to-end test platform for automated testing of STB/CPE devices. Addressing the largest Portuguese operators, the two partners will supply STB and Gateway screening test platforms to be used in diagnostics processes of the service/repair centers.

The advanced RT-RK test environment for rapid screening and diagnostics ProScreen, accompanied by TRC’s CPE device testing (Gateway) which covers WiFi testing, creates a test environment for a full coverage of complex requirements in the service and repair centers.
The platform can also be used in a production environment.

The automatic test environment will enable, not only simple and reliable diagnostics and service of STB/CPE devices in and out of warranty, but will also reduce engagement of human resources, increase the number of tested devices, and improve the reliability of the testing.

Contract extended for HbbTV 2.0.1 test suites

Novi Sad, Serbia – June 29, 2016 – The HbbTV Association has extended its contract with RT-RK for 104 additional test cases to cover the differences between HbbTV 2.0 and HbbTV 2.0.1. This is a further extension of the original contracts placed in July 2015 for 468 tests and February 2016 for a further 155 tests.

These supplementary cases focus on testing features required for the migration of Italy and the UK from their existing solutions to HbbTV. These new tests will also cover additional testing of HbbTV 2.0. It is expected that these new tests will be delivered over the summer, with delivery completed by end of August.

The release of the first version of the HbbTV 2.0 test suite is targeted for end of Q3 2016 and this will include tests for all mandatory features, while the tests for HbbTV 2.0.1 will be included in a later release during Q4 2016.

BBT upgrades to 4K/UHD testing – Introducing RT-AV4K signal capture device

Novi Sad, Serbia – June 7, 2016 – RT-RK, a market leading hardware and software development house in the area of consumer electronics, communications, and multimedia, today announced extension of the BBT line of test products and services by introduction of RT-AV4K grabber device. As essential part in both single and multiple Set-Top Box test stations, the device completes a BBT test system offered to development houses, OEMs, repair facilities and operators, which upgrades them to 4K/UHD (4096×2160) TV and multimedia testing.

RT-RK Supplies AirTies with Automated Set-Top Box Test System

Novi Sad, Serbia – September 12, 2015 – RT-RK, a market leading hardware and software design house focused on consumer electronics, communications and multimedia, today announced that it has supplied AirTies Wireless Networks, the leading supplier of advanced wireless and OTT/IPTV technologies, with a package of automated set-top box test system components.  These include a rack system for testing multiple set-top box units, a picture quality measurement system and a system for testing in field. AirTies intends to use the equipment to improve test processes and solutions, primarily in its R&D and QA departments.

The delivered rack system enables full parallel execution of different test plans for set-top box units. It utilizes remote control and configuration, providing a single interface for functional, regression, stress, and performance testing. Supported by powerful real-time grabbers, and a simple user interface/dashboard framework for creation of tests, test plans, test execution scheduling, and remote execution monitoring, the system performs powerful A/V analysis with OCR algorithms for testing of diverse scenarios and set-top box features.

Picture quality measurement system is a no-reference real-time processing system for video and audio artifact detection. It provides repeatable and objective quality measurements, which closely correspond to subjective human visual assessment, obtained, tracked and alerted in real time.

The station for testing in the field is a flexible and compact package for set-top box verification at remote locations (field infrastructure or customer’s home). The system consists of a central monitoring and control system and remote stations. It is used for monitoring of real-time broadcast, set-top box services (Vod, EPG, etc.), performance measurement, video quality assessment, ongoing KPI measurement, and other related functions. The system is web based, allows remote configuration of the probes, and has mechanisms to facilitate test scenario creation and modification (on-the-fly).

The package comprises all the essentials for reliable set-top box development and verification, which is a key goal for AirTies.

RT-RK, supplier of the HbbTV 2.0 Specification test suite, to automate the test cases within INTENT+

Novi Sad, Serbia – September 11, 2015As announced by the HbbTV Association, a global initiative dedicated to providing an open standard for the delivery of broadcast and broadband services through connected TVs and set-top boxes, RT-RK becomes the supplier of majority test cases to be included in the HbbTV 2.0 test suite, in addition to all the applicable ones from the HbbTV 1/1.5 test suite and other sources. The test cases, carefully selected to be the most important ones of the specification are to be delivered starting September 2015 through to January 2016.

RT-RK is a supplier of the HbbTV 2.0 Spec test suite

After issuing the HbbTV 2.0 specification in February 2015, and having completed the tender process for the supply of test suite, HbbTV is placing contracts with RT-RK and Digital TV Labs.

HbbTV places contracts for HbbTV 2.0 Specification Test Suite

GENEVA—July 31, 2015 —The HbbTV Association, a global initiative dedicated to providing an open standard for the delivery of broadcast and broadband services through connected TVs and set-top boxes, today announced its selection of suppliers for the HbbTV 2.0 specification test suite. The HbbTV 2.0 specification and the tender process for the supply of HbbTV test suite were announced in February 2015. HbbTV has placed contracts with Digital TV Labs and RT-RK for 500 test cases to be included in the test suite. These are in addition to all applicable ones from the HbbTV 1/1.5 test suite and other sources. Test cases have been carefully selected to be the most important ones for the various features in the specification.

Suppliers are expected to begin delivery of the test cases in September 2015 and continue through January 2016. The review process will begin immediately upon their reception and will be handled by both HbbTV members and external third parties.

New test cases will be bundled with the current test suite as they become available and will be listed as ‘additional test material’ pending final approval. This is to ensure that the new tests are visible as soon as possible.

To each party of the product validation chain: IC vendors, software module vendors and system integrators, OEMs/ODMs, telecom operators, and diagnostic and repair facilities RT-RK offers a scalable, open, expandable, rich platform of Python scripting language to set-up and uninterruptedly continue execution of functional, stress, performance, or precertification test suites, locally, or geographically distributed in an end-to-end test management system.

Through the facilities such as: support for Python scripting language, test creation from Graphical User Interface, transfer of prepared tests onto another platform, customizable test reporting, web-based tool to support requirement and test manipulation through the complete lifecycle of the project – the developer is in hand of powerful OCR, video/audio artifact detection, menu navigation/tuning/video (HDMI, CVBS, YPbPr)/audio (analog, digital)/AV decoding/media browser functionality/performance (zapping, boot time) errors detection, and Picture Quality Measurement – a no-reference real-time processing system for video quality assessment. Having past the start-up procedure the developer can build his own tests of: checking the value and name of UI items, EPG content and navigation speed, perform automatic digital DVBT installation for a specific country with specific settings, installation time check, check order and name of installed channels, parsing of device’s shell output (URTlogging), play all YCbCr/CVBS/HDMI formats and check if correct video is displayed in correct format (picture size 4:3, 16:9, etc.), play any content from USB and check if playable content is playing, check if non-supported content is displayed with a correct on screen message, check zap speed, navigate and play DLNA content, and other functional tests.
