The main task of the RT-ExecutorI application is to execute test cases created by the RT-INTENT+ integrated test environment. More information regarding RT-INTENT+ can be found on the RT-INTENT+ pages.

RT-Executor application is protected from unauthorized use using the hardware key delivered with the product. Instructions for the key installation and setup are provided on the HASP key setup page.

 

Installing of RT-ExecutorI Go to top

To install the RT-ExecutorI application, double click on the RT-Executor.msi setup. Follow instructions as shown in the installation guide below.
 

Starting RT-ExecutorI for the first time Go to top

After successful installation of the RT-ExecutorI application, the shortcut to the application will be created on the Windows desktop. If the application is installed on the Windows7 or Windows 8 OS, the application should be configured to run with the Administrator privilege each time. To configure RT-ExecutorI application to run with the Administrator privileges each time, follow these instructions:

  1. Right click with the mouse on the desktop shortcut of the RT-ExecutorI application
  2. Select the Properties option
  3. In the Properties window, select the Compatibility tab and mark the Run this program as an administrator option (Figure 1).

This procedure need to be done only once and it will be saved for each next run of RT-ExecutorI.

To start RT-ExecutorI, double click on the shortcut located on the Windows desktop or click on the shortcut from the Start->All Programs->RT-RK->RT-ExecutorI.
When the application has been run for the first time, user must enter the location of the RT-INTENT+ server (Figure 2).

This parameter will be stored inside the ExecutorGUI.exe.config file. It’s necessary to enter this parameter correctly. Otherwise, the application will fail to login onto the RT-INTENT+ server and will prompt user to enter the connection parameter again. If the parameter inside the configuration file is correct, the application will successfully connect to the RT-INTENT+ server and the application will be ready for use (Figure 3). It’s important to mention that the application can not be used if it is not connected to the RT-INTENT+ server.

Changing the address of the RT-INTENT+ server Go to top

If the RT-ExecutorI has already been configured to connect to the RT-INTENT+ server and user wants to switch to another server, it is necessary  to delete the ExecutorGUI.exe.config file inside the folder where RT-ExecutorI has been installed. After the next run of the RT-ExecutorI, the application will prompt user to enter the new address of the RT-INTENT+ server as described in Figure 2.

 

Logging User On To the RT-ExecutorI Go to top

To start using application, user must be authenticated. To log onto the RT-ExecutorI application, follow next steps (Figure 4):

  1. Select item from the User – > Log in menu
  2. User log in dialog will appear, with username and password fields
  3. Enter valid user name and password and click Log in. After successful login, a dialog will disappear and the application will be ready for use
  4. To log off user, select the User – > Log off option from the main menu
